Welcome to Arrows Hockey’s 2003 – 2004 season. With tryouts for our travel teams behind us, we look forward to getting our youngest members on the ice for Learn To Skate, Developmental and House League.

General Travel Information: The Arrows try to attend tournaments as an organization for both Thanksgiving and Christmas/New Years and host our own President’s Day Weekend “Dollars For Scholars” Tournament February 13 – 16th. Please block these times as Committed To Hockey.

Our organization recently lost one of its most valued members. Bob Senese has been a key part of the development of youth hockey players on Long Island for over 40 years. He has been an integral part of the Arrows family working with our youngest, the developmental players. Bob also served on the Arrows Board of Directors as VP of Coaches. His contribution has been priceless and his presence will be missed by those of us who had the honor to have known him.

Skills Development Coach:

The Arrows are fortunate to have Boris Bykovsky as a member of its coaching staff. Boris has been coaching at the junior level and abroad for the past 8 years. He was member of the Soviet Elite League, Moscow Dynamos and Soviet Wings and most recently played for the Red Bills Redova of Denmark. Boris was a member of the 1988-89 Soviet Junior World Championship Team along with such accomplished players as Sergei Zubov, Aleksandr Yudin, Pavel Bure, Sergei Federov and Alexander Mogilny.

Boris will be conducting skills clinics Tuesdays, Saturdays and Sundays. Each travel player will receive 4 sessions as part of their tuition to participate in these high level clinics. We urge players to take advantage of Boris’ knowledge and continue participating in these clinics throughout the season. Sessions begin early September. Check our web site for dates and times.

The schedule is as follows:
Tuesdays – 9:00 – 10:15 PM Bantam & Midget aged players
Saturdays – 5:45 – 6:45 PM Mite, Squirt & Peewee aged players
Sundays – 6:30 – 7:45 AM Open to players of all ages

Referee Seminar for Levels 1, 2 and 3:

The Arrows will be hosting a referee seminar at the Freeport Recreation Center Saturday, September 6th. The cost is $5 and the seminar will run from 8:00 Am – 4:00 PM. Please come prepared with pen, paper, helmet without face mask, whistle and skates. If you already have a referee jersey and pants please wear them. Sweatpants and a sweatshirt are also allowed.
