Ed Shinnick

Head Coach 18uAA

Ed began coaching in 1996 and currently holds his Level 5 USA Hockey Coach Certification. With over 800 games coached, Ed brings a new philosophy as well as a winning track record. Over his career, Ed has won 5 LIAHL Championships, 4 Nassau County High School Hockey Championships, 2 State Championships, participated in 7 State Championships in addition to winning many hockey tournaments at all levels. Ed is most proud of the fact that many of his former players have stayed involved in hockey, playing at Junior and College levels and some even coaching themselves.

"I want players to have fun playing this great game of Ice Hockey. I want the team to incorporate the ideas of working hard and working together. I have and will preach to this team that 'Hard work beats talent that doesn't work hard'. We will be playing a very exciting and aggressive style of team hockey."

Ed works for Nassau Police Dept, lives in Bellmore with his wife Tricia for 26 years and has two kids Eddie and Tori.

Mike Munzel

Head Coach 16uAA

With over 38 years of hockey experience, Mike has played 20 years at the amateur level with ex pro and college players. He has 8 years of experience refereeing at the travel and adult league levels. 20 years’ experience coaching mites thru midgets youth hockey, alongside ex NHL players and pro power skating instructors. Michael brings his knowledge of the game of hockey and the love of the sport to the Arrows.

Walter Wasnieski

Head Coach Bantam AA

Currently a Level 3 USA Certified Coach. He served in the United States Marine Corps from 92-94 and uses many of the lessons he learned in the Marines such as dedication, teamwork and discipline. As every Marine is responsible to their unit, so is every player on the ice responsible to their team. Walter has been a Coach for the 10U Iceland House League and was a volunteer Assistant Coach for the 12U NYC Skyliners Girls team and 14U Long Island Lady Islanders. His coaching philosophy and focus is to be positive and upbeat but to work hard because hard work will pay off. His main goals are for the players to grow and learn both on and off the ice. He believes in Teamwork and no player or individual is greater than the team.

He graduated college with a BA Degree in Social Science with a minor is Secondary Education.

Professionally he currently works for the NYC Dept. Of Sanitation since 2005.

Sal Sacco

Head Coach Bantam A

Sal is an alumni of the Arrows organization having played his Midget and Junior Hockey for the Arrows in the early 1980’s. Sal has coached over 600 games at all levels from Mites to 16U and has coached for the Arrows since 2004 at the Pee Wee, Bantam and 16U levels. Sal’s Pee Wee team won the LIAHL championship in 2006 and his Mite team won the “King of the Hill” tournament in 2000. He received the Steve Gertler Outstanding Coach award for the 2015/2016 season as the head coach of the Arrows 16U team.

John Cacciatore

Head Coach Pee Wee AA

Coach John Cacciatore started playing ice hockey on Long Island at 7 years old with the Arrows Hockey program. He played there from Squirt A thru Midget AAA with the Arrows. He then played Junior hockey for Long Beach Apple Core.

Coach John has been coaching hockey at various levels for over a decade. He has worked with many pro coaches and many pro player hopefuls. With over 35 years’ experience in the game of hockey Coach John brings the tools necessary for an intense style of training for hockey skills, power skating and edges. Coach John is currently of Director of Player Development for the Arrows Youth Hockey program, Skate2Score owner/instructor, Pee Wee AA Head coach Arrows Hockey, and Assistant Coach Bellmore-Merrick middle school.

Tim Rodgers

Head Coach Pee Wee A Green

Tim grew up playing in the Arrows Organization from mite through midget and went on to play 4 years of Division 1 ACHA club hockey while completing his degrees in education from SUNY Cortland. Tim has held numerous coaching responsibilities at many different age levels within the organization and he had the honor to work as an assistant coach for Chris Hogan for the past seven years on the 18U team. While working with Coach Hogan, Tim absorbed a wealth of knowledge regarding the process of learning not only the game but developing as a mature person. Coach Tim has been a physical education teacher for the past 11 years and loves working with and coaching student-athletes every day. Coach Tim is excited to start another season with the younger players and develop hockey players and mature young men and women.

Steve Alonge

Head Coach Squirt AA

I started playing ice hockey at the age of 11. I played for a few different teams around Long Island until junior hockey. My first year of juniors I played for the New York Bobcats. Following that season, I went to Canada to play for the Windsor Spitfires in the OHL. After ending my career because of shoulder injuries I began working with Skate 2 score as an instructor. I was the head coach of the Arrows Squirt Major team last season and will be coaching the Squirt majors again next season.

Eric Zwerling

Head Coach Squirt A Black

Eric grew up playing his youth hockey for the Long Island Royals and Freeport Arrows. He had an impressive college career at Stony Brook University and Farmingdale State College. He is the head coach for the summer team New York Jr. Oilers the last 2 years, and has had success both years bringing his team to the semis and finals. Eric also works with and trains lower and higher level students on and off the ice all year round. Eric brings his passion, experience, and desire for success to all training levels to ensure his students get the most out of their training and clinic time.

Dale Iannuzzi

Head Coach Squirt A Green

Dale brings over 20 years of hockey experience to the Arrows. Growing up Dale played ice, roller and deck hockey. Towards the end of his competitive career, he had the privilege of going to ACHA’s Division III National Championship Tournament 3 times with Farmingdale State College. After graduating he continued to assist the coaching staff of Farmingdale before transitioning to youth coaching. Now Dale is fortunate to not only work alongside some of the best power skating instructors and hockey coaches on Long Island, but he is also honored to be able to bring his own unique coaching style to the Arrows, and to help develop the next generation of hockey players.

Chris Lattanzio

Head Coach Mite '09

Chris began playing hockey at age 6 while growing up in Rochester NY. A goalie by trade, his 34 years of involvement in the game of hockey include playing travel hockey for the Rochester Americans Youth program as well as competitive high school hockey with several future NHL players in Rochester. From there Chris was recruited to play Junior College before finishing his career at Div. III powerhouse Plattsburgh State. Currently Head Coach for the Arrows Mite Gold travel team, Chris is excited to share his knowledge and love for the game with the next generation of players. His focus for the upcoming season will be centered on player skills development and teamwork.

Jason Gertler

Head Coach Mite Gold '10

Jason has been involved with the Arrows organization for over 25 years. He started playing at the age of 5 all the way to 18, and has spent 3 years as an assistant coach of the midget major U18 team. After that he spent a year coaching in the developmental and a year coaching in the elite developmental program. Last year Jason was the head coach of the mite silver team.

David Erhlich

Head Coach Mite Silver '10 – '11

David Ehrlich has played hockey and coached for almost his entire life. He has coached youth hockey from age’s 5 through high school level. David's coaching techniques teach young hockey players to learn the game, grow their skill sets, and learn a team concept that's enjoyable for all.
